Some tasks of this shift include:
Detailed cleaning to keep our facility in tip top shape Safely handling, monitoring, and interacting with dogs of all sizes (extra small to giant breeds) and temperaments throughout the day.
No breed discrimination here.
Actively being engaged with the sweet face in front of you.
That may mean throwing a ball for 1000
times to brushing and snuggling a senior pup to singing and dancing with a play yard of puppies.
Keeping up with a fast pace while able to provide attention to detail.
Get those good insoles, your feet will thank you and you deserve it! Customer service skills - conversing with our wonderful clients while handling their pups.
Stay engaged and interactive in a setting with a group of dogs and individual dogs Able to learn and understand dog body language, communication, and behaviors.
(they are amazing creatures with all their personalities).
Training is hands on as well as online modules specific to our industry.
Job will require bending, stooping, lifting, and handling strong dogs at times.
Loving all the dogs in our care and assisting them for potty breaks / comforting and snuggling dogs afraid of storms Make every dog love you instantly by helping serve their highness' meals and treats Make sure all dogs have clean living areas Sharing with their fabulous pet owners via email about their day and time with your fellow ROCKSTARS Holding the characteristics of reliability, honesty, integrity, and trustworthiness Sadly all our shifts isn't all snuggles, but since we are on the move we do get our steps in.
Good shoes and a great attitude help as at times, an entire shift may be spent on your feet.
You will need to be physically fit and agile to comfortably handle the tasks assigned.
You will need to step outside for very brief moments during Iowa's cold polar vortex and hot humid summer weather and everything in between.
If you join the daycare side of things, you'll enjoy longer time frames outside.
Don't worry, we have misting systems and sun shades to protect that skin.
Occasionally, you may need to give extra assistance to a sweet elderly larger doodle (or other breed) to help them walk.
We share this so all applicants are aware of minor outside work and lifting.
Occasional holidays are required as we have pups 365 days of the year in our care.

Job Requirements:
Previous experience with dogs within the pet industry is preferred, but not required.
Proven experience within our industry increases opportunity at higher starting rate.
Reliable transportation - including during winter weather, the dogs rely on us being to work on time.
We think they may be able to tell time.
Ability to learn new computer software.
